We recently learned that a number of products classified as vegan may not be.
It’s possible that some of our products contain the resin of a lac bug (like a beetle), which is used to create ambrettolide, a fragrance ingredient in some of our formulas. Sourcing the ingredient doesn’t harm the bug, but we have strict standards for what we classify as vegan. So to be on the safe side, we will no longer consider these products as vegan.
Once we discovered this issue, we began removing the vegan status from these products on our sales channels. If you want to find out more about the affected products, please feel free to contact our Customer Care team.
We’re now reformulating these products and will keep you up to date on when vegan versions are back on shelf. We’re really sorry we didn’t get it right the first time, and hope you can stick with us as we work hard to bring you more innovative vegan products.
